Show Vendor Profile:
Sally Thompson Vendor & Promoter

This picture is of one of her collections, a shaving mug rack that would have hung in a barber shop.  Each gentleman would have their own shaving mug.  The one pictured is of a relative’s mug.

Sally Thompson

I am Sally Thompson, and I have a life-long love of antiques.  My mother collected and became a dealer, and we were always appreciating and looking for antiques to decorate our homes.

My first antique purchase was a small stool that I bought for a dollar as a ten year old; which I still have.

Antique Postcards

I especially like antique postcards with an emphasis on Halloween, Santas. and Cats. Check out my shop on Ebay

My other collections include pyrography (wood burning), whirly gigs, iron door stops, Staffordshire dogs and graniteware.

My Passion for Antiques

My passion for antiques has been a significant part of my life. I continue to learn more about antiques being a member of Questers (a national education organization) for studying antiques and I enjoy associating with like minded people.  I have been a vendor and promoter of the Omaha Antique Show for 5 years and this past year I have added the Vintage and Antique Show of Lawrence, KS to my business.  My hope is to attract a younger set of antique lovers to this interesting hobby.

Community Spirit  & Service

I am a supporter of the University of Nebraska especially, their women’s volleyball and football programs.  Since I live in Overland Park, I also follow all the games of the Kansas City Royals baseball as well.  I am an avid gardener and start over 300 tomato plants in my greenhouse and many flats of annuals each year, many of which I give away.  I plant several yards with zinnias, marigolds, and other flowers and plant the roadside garden for the United Methodist Church in Grey Eagle, MN.

Love of Travel

Rod and I love to travel, and we go to our three favorite places, a Minnesota cabin, Omaha, NE, and Key West, Florida.  We were fortunate to spend two weeks in Italy this past summer. Traveling is a cherished activity for us, and we look forward to continuing our adventures as long as possible.
